[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he fruit of the Spirit is patience and I am not patient – a fact that’s very obvious to those who know me well.
Ever since I was little, patience has never been something that has come naturally to me but I know that the evidence of being a Jesus follower is being patient.
When I think of the godly men and women that I respect, patience is something that I always associate with them – maybe because it is something that eludes me. I need patience and ask God for more of it regularly – very regularly.
Whether waiting for fellow committee members to jump on board with my latest idea, or waiting for a friend to be ready to be real with me, or even waiting for someone to grasp the rules to my favourite game fast enough, I always see how impatient I am and how desperately I need more of Jesus and more of His patience. I’m not perfect and not always patient but I want to be so that the world can see something different in me – a patience that cannot be explained and is straight from Jesus. It’s a GIFT of the Spirit and I’m waiting for it – patiently.
